timeless, heirloom pieces. teapots, teacups with saucers, gravy boats. these are the things that come to mind when i think of heirlooms. you see, we are an entertaining family so the things that we love and remind us of each other all relate to food + drink. like a piece of blue and white pottery.

blue and white pottery originated from the Middle East but was perfected in China. the blue color comes from cobalt oxide, which was mined in Iran and transported as a raw element to China. many of the patterns, even those being produced today, are heavily influenced by Chinese designs.
