Another mini-post. Sorry guys.

I'm working on a fun, new project and I'm needing some feedback. The link below is a survey with 5 questions. It shouldn't take long and I would really apprecate the help.

mish mosh thoughts

I feel like I've fallen off the grid. Blogging has been slacking, instagram and twitter have been slacking. Who is feeling overwhelmed? This girl.

So instead of burying myself with ALL THE THINGS, I'm taking the pressure off. If I don't get to blog today this week, it really is okay.

Hubby and I are spending our evenings at church, ministering to children, their parents, and just all around serving the Lord. Yes, that means we are not home from basically 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM (robbers, please don't break into my house). Yes, that means that dinner isn't exactly healthy or even in existence (Fruit & Yogurt cereal, anyone?) Yes, that means we are exhausted and the house isn't as clean as we'd like. But it's all okay. We are learning that we don't have to handle everything and to accept help.

Even more amazing than learning those things, is that KJB and I are discovering how to be leaders together. We have both been involved in and led extra curricular activities before, but never together. We are a great little team, each of us filling the gap of what the other lacks. Decision making for a group of 100 + people is very different than decision making for two, and we are figuring out how to do that. It's fun to know that the Lord is growing us and developing our relationship through this service.

Sorry that this post is a bit all over the place. I felt the need to document my thoughts and fill you all in on some things that are going on. Time just seems to be going so fast.... okay, okay. Must get back to work now. xo

How is your January going?

Guest Room Inspiration

These are a few rooms that I'm just swooning over. While all of them are very different, they each are inspiring me to come up with a great guest bedroom that makes our guests feel at home and cared for. I want this room to feel collected, not decorated. I want personal things that our guests can relate to and unique things that can entertain them.
What are the things you want in a guest room at your house? What are some things you look for when you're staying in a guest room?

weekly truth + reading the Word

created the heavens and the earth. God was there at the beginning before anything. Can you even begin to fathom creating the heavens and the earth? I can hardly iron my shirt in the morning. *looks down at wrinkles created by the seat-belt* Incredible is the best word I can come up with and even that's not good enough.

Over the weekend I started a reading plan to read the Bible in a year. I basically copied Elise's method, so go visit her if you would like to join us. I've never attempted this before but my desire to learn has been creeping since we started our Sunday school class. I find myself grasping for stories and really wanting to learn more.

Have you ever read the entire Bible? How did you go about doing it?

EYE CANDY

For Christmas I got a makeup palette I've been swooning over for the past couple of months, the Lorac Pro Palette. The shadows are velvety soft and crazy pigmented, just like I had dreamed about. So the next morning I took to YouTube to find a few tutorials so that I could get inspired to create with my new palette. There are some really great ones out there so I decided to pull my favorites together in one place.

O N E _ W O R D

Good morning my friends, and a happy new year to you! Things have been quiet around the blog, as I took an unexpected, yet totally needed break for the holiday. I was able to spend some time with loved ones and enjoy holiday traditions - hopefully you were as well!

To start the new year off, I'm going to jump on the "one word" bandwagon. While pouring through my thoughts about the upcoming year and my list of goals that I shared on my 27th birthday, I bounced back in forth between two completely opposite paths. The idea of really tackling my dreams and goals was pulling me hard to choose a word like MOTIVATED or DRIVEN. On the opposite side of things, the past few years have been jam packed and busy, and by choosing words like CALM or STILL, perhaps I would be more likely to have a restful year. But neither of those seemed right. They seemed too extreme.

This year I may not be saying "yes" to everything. Instead I'm going to be a little more INTENTIONAL.

I'm learning that my time is worth something and when I say yes to all the things, I'm saying no to others. Maybe I'm saying no to time with my husband, or time for myself. Maybe I'm saying no to the Lord. Gulp.

This is really going to take some changing on my part because I love to help people. But He doesn't expect me to do everything and it is okay to say no sometimes. My time should be spent serving the Lord and glorifying my Savior because I think He deserves it. It is my hope that I can look back on 2014 and remember it as a life-changing year. The year that I set my priorities straight, spent a lot of time in prayer, a lot of time with loved ones and didn't feel guilty about it.

I'm going to need your help. When things get crazy, I hope you will remind me of this goal. Don't be afraid to point it out to me. Sometimes I need that thump on the head. ;)

Have you selected a word for the year? What are your resolutions?
