may calendar

i've always made myself desktop wallpapers with calendars and i decided i would start sharing them. they are nothing fancy - just a pleasing photo with a calendar somewhere. i always try to use vertical photos and have them centered so that my desktop icons can line the sides and not be lost or interrupt the photo. this month's photo i found on a pretty tumblr blog called She Shall Have Music. just click on the photo to view it's full size and right click + save a desktop image.

sometimes

my weekend was jam packed with packing up for our move (which happens tomorrow!), a wedding hair trial i showed up for and ended up having to cancel and reschedule, a wonderful pedicure and manicure, and my BACHELORETTE party. it was a total blast and to prove how fun it was, i was a complete bum yesterday. literally i was a useless human being. i laid around and watched movies, tried to rehydrate and napped all day long. it was kind of nice :)

hope your weekend was perfect! and happy monday!

splendid conversation

[via; follow this pretty lady here]

like a room from a magazine

have you ever seen something and fallen in love with it? oh wait, i don't mean a person. let's be materialistic here. i mean you're out window shopping or browsing your fav online stores and BAM! just like that you see something that you want/need/gotta have or you'll die from a broken heart? yeah, that kind of falling in love. well that happened to me today when i saw this office while scrolling through the restoration hardware website. in my defense i had a 15% off coupon that came in my catalog so obviously i was shopping to save. duh. anyway, i fell fast and hard for this office so i went browsing for the puzzle pieces. here's what i found out...

now, if you know me, you know i like to shop but i'm also particular with my money. this room totals to $7,424 without the awesome view, pretty hardwood floors, and matching books. getting this room is way outside my budget right now, especially with the wedding so close, but i'm still going to dream about it. and hopefully overtime, once we move into a bigger space, i can acquire pieces like this that timeless and that i love.

what do you think about this room? love it/hate it? overpriced/totally worth it? tell me your thoughts!

paint by pic {xiv}

for me, girly rooms are just lust-worthy. i'm seriously pinning for a pretty room like this & it's probably because i'm now decorating a home for two and KJB just really isn't into all the girly. anyway, i thought i'd share this pretty living room because it's modern and neutral enough for a man to withstand and the girly-ness is brought in with accents. maybe i'll try to get away with a few pink candlesticks and a feathery pillow like these ;)

pretty Friday

friday... how I've longed for you. this week has been expectantly busy and i've only been able to follow my favorite blogs about every other day. i don't like it i tell you. anyway, i'm going out tonight for a girlfriend's birthday and i'm thrilled for a chance to catch up with her and have some girl time. this weekend i'll probably add to my wedding to-do list since that's what happens when you're so prepared that you have extra time (bragging on myself just a bit).

here's some follow friday loving for my fav blogs:

hope your weekend is filled with breakfast in bed mornings, sunny afternoons, and sequin dress nights.

xoxo!

All of the rooms I share on my blog are rooms that I love and that inspire me. And every once in a while I come across a room that is exactly what I want in a room for my own house. This is one of those rooms. My favorite thing about neutrals is the colors that come from the shadows and the light. This room is also filled with classical furniture and whimsical art; so it makes my heart beat a little bit faster.

living room furnishings - i'll live here right now, thanks

currently i'm yearning for a nap in a warm room with a breeze blowing in. i discovered this gorgeous room that belongs to Courteney Cox, located in Malibu. the large windows with stunning view is what i'm really loving here but her furnishing selections aren't to be passed over either. get the look of this room with some of these items. i certainly wouldn't mind napping here.

weekend showers

this weekend i had my final shower with a group of lovely ladies that i'm so thrilled to call my best friends. we had some yummy treats and i got some fun stuff for our new place. here is the group! oh, and KJB came by at the end to pick me up and load up the gifts so we took a photo in front of the pretty backdrop too! aren't my friends so cute!

and speaking of showers, it's quite dreary today. we had amazing weather yesterday with sunny skies and a little breeze. perfect for a backyard nap :) hope everyone had a great weekend! xo

ps. just for fun I pulled together a polyvore board of my three shower outfits. here it is!

paint by pic {xii}

Often times we see gorgeous, huge closets they are white with chrome hardware or dark wood with glass. So when I found this closet I knew I wanted to share it in a paint by pic. It's colorful yet subtle enough to really let your clothes and accessories stand out. I really urge you to try painting your closet with fun colors like these, especially if you have bold color elsewhere in the home. Don't let the closet be naked!

Don't have a huge closet or dressing room like this one? It's cool, neither do I. But who says you can't still brighten up the inside of your closet with a fresh coat of paint? Or you could even chose a printed wallpaper. A closet would love it because cost would be minimal for a small space.

What do you think about color inside a closet or dressing room? Bold like this room or neutral?

Personal post + Giveaway WINNER!

Let's start out with a pretty room first, shall we? I say we do because it makes me happy and also... it's my bloggy.

Next! I'm gonna just say it... I'm MEGA ready for this wedding to get here. Everything is ready: the invitations mailed, the orders placed, the decor packed and ready to be put out. My to-do list has narrowed to about 5 things. FIVE. I can't believe I can even say that after a year and a half of being engaged. And guys, we are ready in more than just the physical sense. We are just ready to be married and to live together in the same place. While our engagement has gone by so quickly, this last couple of months seems to be tiptoeing. Back when I started planning I was excited for our wedding day - and don't get me wrong, I still am. But even more so I'm excited for our marriage and the things we will experience as husband and wife. That sounds strange because it's not like I wasn't excited about that before now, it's just that now that it's so close and I can almost touch it, I'm eager and exhausted and READY. Do you get that I'm ready? Okay, good.

So now... the giveaway winner! If your name is Lisa and your Twitter name is @LisaE1621, you are the winner! CONGRATULATIONS! I will be in touch with you via email later today. Lisa's favorite item from the giveaway was the string globe lights and I totally don't blame her because they are stinkin fun. Thanks to everyone who entered and be sure to check back in a couple months to help me celebrate by birthday and blogiversary!

oh! and leave me a comment about the month leading up to your wedding day and the start of your new life together. were you like me? or were you nervous/freakin out/scared? let's talk about it below!

a pretty room; bedroom furnishings

i recently spotted this photo on pinterest but it was linked back incorrectly so i couldn't get to the original source. i loved this bit of the bedding and wanted to find it so i started digging. i finally found it on the PB Teen's site and when i did, i kinda fell in love with this little chair too. it's the perfect little bedroom chair where you can sit to put your shoes on in the morning or at a vanity.

baker's man

completely smitten with this look from restoration hardware but it's definitely out of my price range for right now. instead, i've found some less expensive alternatives that will get you a similar look. these could be great for a small space; if you set up your dishes right, it doubles as a display. plus the casters on this one makes it nice to push it against the wall or out of the way if you need a bit more room.

small spaces, smart solutions

i may have mentioned back in this post here that the new place the FH and i are moving into post wedding is tiny. in fact the entire kitchen floor space is just over 4' x 3'. yeah; i know. and the bathroom isn't much better. back when i lived alone in a one bedroom- i didn't care that my towels went rolled up on the top shelf of my closet. and my closet was pretty huge then for one person. now that two people will be sharing a bathroom that size with an even smaller closet, i had to figure out where to store some of my bathroom items. another major problem with our teeny tiny apartment is that we cannot hang any kind of shelving. i know, right? yikes.

anyway, i found my solution in these high cabinets offered by ikea. tall and lean, these cabinets are perfect for storing lots of little items without taking up much floor space.

i'm going with the fullen model because it takes up the least amount of depth at only 11", which is almost more than i can spare but we have to store our towels somewhere!

how would you handle storage in the bathroom with limited space? i'm open for suggestions!
