WARBY
Anyone that knows me will tell you that sunglasses are my weakness. Next to jewelry, it's the accessory I have the most of, which may be slightly ridiculous since you can only wear one pair at a time. Hanging on the wall next to my vanity is a old metal pant hanger where I have all of my sunnies lined up in rows. Having them on display really helps me to rotate them, plus they are easy to put away and can't get piled up on my dresser (like everything else).
Anyways, I really wanted to share Warby Parker's new sunglasses collection, inspired by 1950's fashion. The mixed materials and the bold browline are super on trend for this summer and I. CAN'T. WAIT. to get my hands on a pair. Before I continue with gushing about this line, first some background on Warby Parker. The basis of the company is frames you can try on at home, by ordering up to five sample pairs. They arrive in a neat little box, ready for you to find your perfect pair. My husband and I have both taken advantage of this because I've never loved the frames available at my local doctor, and ordering online can be so risky. These people must be genius because it's incredibly convenient and the best way to find the perfect fit. As if that's not good enough, they also partner with nonprofits to give a pair of glasses to someone in need every time a pair is sold. Shopping with a conscience and getting a great product.
Back to this new collection. There are a couple different styles but I'm a major sucker for tortise shell anything so Addie is my favorite and the pair I've decided to get my hands on. The black pair (Hayes) I'm considering for my husband because I think the black will look classic on him.
Being a retro fan, I'm really crushing on this collection. The fifties vibes are strong and have me thinking of feminine fit-and-flare silhouettes, wrap dresses, and pastels. When I first saw the images Warby Parker released I had to find some great pieces to pair with the sunnies. Once I get my pair I'm definitely coming back to share a couple of my favorite looks for summer..
Seeing fashion and trends evolve is so fun because while there are similarities to the retro look, there's always something updated about it - like the material, the neckline, or a fresh color palette. Warby Parker definitely got this collection right with timeless, classic designs. Be sure to check out the Insta hashtag #WarbyHomeTryOn to see how others are successfully finding eyeglasses and sunglasses that look amazing on them.

pretty please jewelry
sometimes you come across something great, and you just have to share. that's what this is. after discovering Pretty Please, an online shop that sells jewelry and watches i've become a little bit addicted. so far, i've picked up three pieces and i've been wearing them basically every day.
the pretties come in these little woven cloth bags that are so stinkin cute. the dangly earrings was my first purchase and they delighted me so much that i didn't hesitate to order the flowered studs next, followed by the link bracelet. i've worn the heck out of them.
Pretty Please works in a unique way, only holding sales on Monday and Thursday evenings. they upload the items for that sale and take them down the next day. free shipping on any purchase for those in the US.
try to catch their sale tonight. follow this link to like their page, because it is a little difficult to find them using the Facebook search. if you snag something, come back and tell me in the comments what it is!

first I M P R E S S I O N S
an entry to your home gives an immediate impression of you, your
style, and how you run your home. what does your entry say about you?
is your entrance a place for catching all those miscellaneous, items like mail, bags, sports gear? if so, keep it looking clean with shelving, baskets, hooks and the like that coordinates with the style of your home.
or is your entry more casual, just a pretty and inviting entrance into your home? just a couple hooks for guests jackets and a few decorative items and your set.
regardless of which entrance style you rock in your pad, don't pass up on an umbrella stand. for some reason, i'm in love with them.

nursery art
nursery art is by far one of my favorite things to look at. the rooms can be whimsical and fun and everything good in the world. some of my favorites i've found on etsy (duh-it's like the best place in the world).
use this as a guestbook at the baby shower and then art in the nursery. this shop has several options, but i love the circus monkey.
gaaaaawd, tell me that's not flippin adorable.
for my fellow chevron lovers. and completely love the 3d animals.
i'm a fan of this little guy. don't we all wanna be a cuddly, bamboo-eating panda?

my paper love {wedding details}
from previous posts you know that i have a love of paper products. evidence 1, 2, 3, 4 and i think you get it. anyways, last june i won a lovely giveaway from a lovely website that unfortunately i cannot recall but it was for an AMAZING paper company called Craftypagan. it turned out to be one of my favorite details from the wedding.
this notebook now houses the listing of shower and wedding gifts we received. i loved that the name on the front was so close to my maiden name. i used these bike tags on the drink dispensers to let guests know what each container held.
i loved her dandelion print so i asked for table placecards just like these heart ones and used them on the cake table, seen in the image above. and this pretty notebook i used as my guestbook (after my first one kinda flopped, which is another post for another day).
i'm practically dying to see the rest of the photos that show off these pretties. what do you think about little paper signs like these at a wedding? a waste of time and effort or an appreciated detail? do tell!

{can you dig it} WE CAN DIG IT {can yall dig it}
this color is FIERCE for summer! {please excuse me. just had to channel my inner-Tyra there for a moment.} let me be real for a moment though; i've always been a pink girl. it's like it is my bones or running through my veins. for the most part i can dig any color from Mr. ROY G. BIV and all that is between. however, i've always kind of hated the color red. i think because it reminds me of anger or something but red just kinda makes me shutter. don't ask me to explain it. so it wasn't until recently when i picked up a pretty coral nail varnish that i've discovered i too can love shades of red. now red itself? i'm still dealing with that but a nice pinky-orange shade of red? i can really get into that. here's my roundup of coral things that i'm ready to rock this summer.
1 Technically in a shade of orange but this pillow looks like coral to me. I'd love to see it on a mint or peach bedspread or a white sofa. Trina Turk, $118.
2 Backpacks are making a comeback and a great polka dot is never out of style. This one is in the shade Firecracker and I love how modern it looks. Brahmin, $295.
3 The combination of pockets, buttons, and this bright coral color is making me itch for that super hot weather that always hits during the week of the fair, which is where I'd wear this number. Topshop, $56.
4 Though the image here looks hot pink, this blush is the perfect shade of coral. It's natural and cheerful, not to mention the fact that these blushes smell so nice. Benefit, $28.
5 Perfect for those summer nights that are turning into fall, when there is just a bit of a chill in the air. Nordstrom, $58.
6 For your morning coffee or to collect pencils on your desk, this warm red Pantone Universe mug will brighten up your day. Popdeluxe, $15.
7 There's something ridiculously fun about a shiny, wet lipgloss. This one in candid coral has some pretty gold shimmer to really warm things up. Lord and Taylor, $26.
8 A new rug with a bold print can look like an entire room make over. I also love this for a covered balcony. wayfair, starting at $63.
9 Platform wedge sandals in a pretty melon color?! Gimme! I'd wear these puppies with my pleated black skirt and a simple white short sleeved blouse to the office or out for dinner. Zappos, $160

nesting
Stacked, slightly separated, a nesting table is a great piece for any room. I admit I have yet to use them on a project of my own because I kind of forget about them! Crazy of me though because they are great for adding height variation to a room and perfect for entertaining. Separate the tables around the room for a place to set a cocktail or use them to display desserts or hors' d'oeuvres.

like a room from a magazine
have you ever seen something and fallen in love with it? oh wait, i don't mean a person. let's be materialistic here. i mean you're out window shopping or browsing your fav online stores and BAM! just like that you see something that you want/need/gotta have or you'll die from a broken heart? yeah, that kind of falling in love. well that happened to me today when i saw this office while scrolling through the restoration hardware website. in my defense i had a 15% off coupon that came in my catalog so obviously i was shopping to save. duh. anyway, i fell fast and hard for this office so i went browsing for the puzzle pieces. here's what i found out...
now, if you know me, you know i like to shop but i'm also particular with my money. this room totals to $7,424 without the awesome view, pretty hardwood floors, and matching books. getting this room is way outside my budget right now, especially with the wedding so close, but i'm still going to dream about it. and hopefully overtime, once we move into a bigger space, i can acquire pieces like this that timeless and that i love.
what do you think about this room? love it/hate it? overpriced/totally worth it? tell me your thoughts!
